I'm currently using version 2.9.9. Received automatic Update available message, but when I want to install it I get a message saying that PDF24 Creator is already running, please close then click OK to continue. In fact, PDF24 is not running. I also look in Windows Task Manager - Processes - the only instances of PDF24 showing are the Update.exe and Update.tmp. If I end either of them of course the whole Update process stops. I also tried uninstalling PDF24 so I could download the latest version from the web. But I get the same message - please close the instance of PDF24 that is running, even though it isn't. Therefore I can't uninstall either. Can you please explain what I need to do?

Normally this should not happen. Are you really sure, that no instance is running? You said that you have uninstalled die program. The uninstaller removes any files that have been installed by the program. There can't be any files that are running. There must be something wrong with your system.
Try uninstalling the program and than do a restart.
