We have successfully installed PDF24 on our XenApp environment, but the users complain about very slow performance when merging PDFs.
As an example a user used one minute to merge a couple of PDFs on her local computer. She used 4-5 minutes when doing the same job on the terminal server.

Is there any special tuning recommended when using PDF24 in a terminal server environment?

There are no special tuning flags which would accelerate merging PDF files. Merging is done via Ghostscript and if the process is slower on the terminal server than I would say that Ghostscript runs significantly slower on your terminal server. How fast the merging process is depends on the input files. Merging without Ghostscript (this would speed up merging) is still on our TODO. This feature, with Ghostscript as fall-back, will be available in one of the next releases.
