Why is extracting pages function not working?

when i try to extract a selection of 40 pages from 52 page doc the resultant file will not open

I get an error message startxref not found

version 3.7.0

It could be that the PDF file is wrong. Try to print the PDF file to the PDF24 printer to create a new PDF file which should be correct and which should work. Open the newly created file and extract your pages.
