Does PDF24 create PDFs that are searchable, i.e. the text content can be extracted by Windows 7 search and indexed?
I use windows 7s indexed search all the time to search all my documents. Does PDF24 create PDFs that are searchable, i.e. the text content can be extracted by Windows 7 search and then successfully indexed?

The pdf's that I have created with PDF24 Creator don't seem to be searchable. Perhaps I have something configured incorrectly. Under what circumstances should PDF 24 Creator produced PDFs be searchable?

PDF24 produces searchable PDF files. That is the normal case. In some rare situations your PDF file is not searchable.
- This can happen if no unicode information of a font is available.
- You PDF contains only images and these are not searchable by default. An OCR step is required here to make these PDF files searchable.

Produced PDF files should be searchable if the files contain text and not just images. if the file contains images, then you have to use OCR. If text is there, but not selectable, then security options could prevent that too. In rarely cases, there is something wrong with your PDF.
