Why is PDF24 part of startup application?

Since it can be selected as a printer when needed, why does it need to be launched during startup process?

The PDF printer was designed that way. The pdf24.exe is mainly responsible for handling the printing of the PDF printer. It start the assistant after a printed file is available. The app also controls the tray icon where you can start some tools like the screen capture ones.
